OWN ROAD TRANSPORT 
Tembe is a four-and-a-half-hour drive on a tarred road from Durban - or a six hour drive from Johannesburg, Gauteng. Once you arrive at Tembe’s gate, you will be met and directed to the secure parking area where you can safely leave your vehicle for the duration of your stay. From there, you will be driven in a 4x4 to the lodge. From then on all game-drives and transport around the lodge are provided under the supervision of an experienced guide. 

ROAD TRANSPORT FROM DURBAN
Visitors requiring transport from Durban will be met either at Durban International airport, their hotel or preferred pick-up point and driven to Tembe in a luxury air-conditioned vehicle. All game drives and transport within the park are provided. Visitors are returned to Durban at the end of their stay.

AIR TRANSFERS PRIVATE CHARTER 
If required, a return air-service is can be chartered from Virginia Airport, just north of Durban, direct to the airstrip at Tembe or to the neighbouring Manguzi airstrip, depending on weather conditions. Again, all road transport to and from the park is provided, as well as within the park for the duration of your stay. This is a great way to experience Africa from the sky and another bonus is that you land within the Tembe Elephant Reserve itself!

Rates are subject to change. R/$ exchange rate was calculated on 6.85 and is subject to the daily bank rate at time of payment.

ZULULAND FLYING SERVICE 
There is a daily flying service operating out of Virginia Airport. This is suitable for guests who would like to stay at Tembe for longer periods of time, as it eliminates the problem of pilots having to stay on-call at the lodge for long periods at a time, or having to make two trips at your expense. This is also ideal for single passengers / couples who don’t want to charter a whole aeroplane.
